My MBA degree is from SMU-DEB (Distance Education Board) and I successfully got my SEBI Research analyst license. When you are pursuing a distance/online Masters’s degree as prescribed by the SEBI check your university is approved as per the SEBI qualifications requirement or not?

If you are working somewhere better you choose distance education as preferred mode of education as it is not possible to attend job and your degree classes at the same time. If you show your working experience and regular degree at a same time it will create conflict of interest and looks like you are not a due diligence person.

Try to choose your degree program is for 2 years as for the SEBI Investment adviser license one year degree program or diploma will not count and in near term it may added for the SEBI Research analyst license.

In short, Yes, If your distance/online educational or diploma degree as per the SEBI RA and IA norms you are eligible for the SEBI Investment adviser and Research Analyst license.
